Though some may think that there are easy ways to lose weight, those of us who are overweight would have to disagree. It is much easier to put weight on that to take weight off.
There are some great diets out there that can help you lose weight, but losing the weight is only half of the battle, its maintaining the weight loss that is the real battle. Take for instance the Adkins diet, it teaches you to take out all you carbs, etc and you will lose weight, which is true, but lets say you lose fifty pounds and think you are doing well enough and don’t need to diet anymore, but you never really learned anything about eating healthy, then you are most likely going to gain back that weight plus more and you will feel even more unhealthy than you were being over weight the first time.
To be able to lose weight and maintain it you must train yourself to eat a healthier diet, drink plenty of water, and move. Exercise is very vital for losing and keeping the weight from coming back. Now this is not a lose weight quick scheme it is a way of living a healthy lifestyle and it will take longer to lose weight, but in the long run you will keep off the weight and feel great at the same time. Weight loss is simple math really. Companies like to make it seem to complicated so they can generate more money, but in reality it is very simple. The less calories you take in, the more you put out, the less you will weigh. Sometimes the goal is just to maintain, to stay the same weight….accounting for slowing of metabolism as we age, and general life changes.
So what if you need to fit into that little black dress in 4 weeks? How can you safely loose 5 pounds? If you think about it in math terms, it is easy. Say you burn about 1,900 calories per day, you don’t exercise. If you are consuming 2,200 calories per day you will not loose weight obviously. So, in order to change that we would need to keep track of daily intake of calories, see how much we are taking in and then make changes. Also, by adding 30 minutes of walking per day and or other forms of exercise we could increase the metabolism to burn more calories.

Beginning a daily healthy eating plan is becoming more popular these days, than it was a few years ago. As we hear more attention brought to the problem of young children becoming obese, and getting diabetes, and the huge health risks associated with being overweight, more people are trying to lose weight and get healthy.
Starting another diet however, is something most people do not look forward to. Many times it is not the first attempt at losing weight. Quite often it is an ongoing cycle of weight loss and regaining over and over. If you have been through this cycle of dieting a few times, it is definitely time for a lifestyle change.
Dieting over and over, is not only frustrating, it is also not good for your health. As you get older it becomes harder to keep getting the weight off. The problem with a diet is, it’s probably an eating plan you do not intend on staying with for the long term. That is usually, a recipe for failure.
I know, back in my dieting days, I couldn’t wait to lose a few pounds so I could go back to my regular eating. Needless to say I was on the never ending diet cycle. I finally decided, after fifteen years of the yo yo diet syndrome, that I was tired of it, and got on a plan of eating healthy, and have never looked back.
To start your new daily health eating plan, you need to remove the word diet from your mind. This is not a diet, this is your new healthy lifestyle, that will make you look good, feel good, and can add many healthy years to your life.
To start your new healthy lifestyle, don’t pick a day to start like you do with a diet. That just causes stress. Start your new plan today. Remember, you’re dieting days are over. Start making little changes every day toward your new lifestyle. There’s no stress here, just work at your own pace, as long as you’re making a little change every day.
Maybe give up that can of soda that is full of sugar, for a low sugar sports drink, or water, even if it’s only a few days out of the week. It’s a start. Tomorrow you might give up that calorie buster breakfast for a bowl of healthy cereal with fresh fruit on top, and low fat milk.
For lunch give up that greasy fast food meal one or two days a week, for a chef salad with balsamic vinegar for dressing, a piece of fresh fruit, and water with lemon, or a low calorie beverage.
For dinner a couple of days a week, replace a calorie loaded meal, with a light but filling meal like chicken breast, without the skin, a vegetable, and a small baked potato.
Be careful with the flavorings, like butter, salad dressings, oils, and sauces like gravy. They can often have more calories than the meal itself.
Did you know a baked potato has 60 calories, but that same potato made into French fries has 600 calories.
The healthy meal plan above could save you one thousand calories or more in one day, depending on your normal eating habits. That would be fifty two thousand calories a year you could potentially save, or fourteen pounds of fat, just from doing this one day a week.
Learn to read food labels before buying. You may be shocked at the calories, sodium and carbohydrates in something you thought was healthy. The numbers on the label, are multiplied by the number of servings stated to be in the container. So if the label says 300 calories, but it tells you there are four servings in there, that item has twelve hundred calories.
Make a list of healthy foods to eat. Take it with you when you go shopping. Try to stick to your list as much as you can, but as I mentioned, do it slowly. Make a list of the 10 healthiest foods, which in my opinion are fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, legumes, poultry, fish, some dairy like milk for calcium, garlic (has great antioxidants), and water (yes water, a must for weight loss and general health)
Eating healthy does not mean going hungry. It is simply a plan of getting the foods that have caused the weight gain, (flour, sugar, salt, and oils) out of your life, and getting healthy again. I think you will find, that after a few weeks of making the change, it will start to become an addiction.
You begin to find new ways to make great meals that are healthy and delicious. When you go to the grocery store it becomes fun to find healthy items to put in your cart. It becomes fun to sit down to a filling healthy meal, and walk away from the table feeling good. Once you get to this point you will know what I mean.

Are there really any foods that cause you to burn more calories than they provide to your body? The answer to that question is yes. We are going to present a list “negative calorie” foods below. But first, let’s clarify the meaning of the term “negative calorie” foods.
To begin with, you need to understand that there is actually no such thing as a negative calorie. A calorie is a unit of heat and it cannot be negative. So when people use the term “negative calorie” foods, they are referring a food whose calorie level is low enough that it takes more energy to eat and digest it than the food contains.
Take water, for example. If you consider water to be a food, then cold water is certainly a negative calorie food. It offers you no calories at all and the body has to expend energy to warm it up to blood temperature. This means that every time we drink a glass of cold water, we burn a couple of calories and lose a little weight just to process the water. But there really are very few foods like this. And, while it’s wholesome and vital, water is not among those things ingested that we usually think of as delicious and satisfying.
Most foods that are on the list we are going to show do not, by themselves, technically use more calories to process than they add., or if they do the effect is negligible. However, at all times, the body expends energy to do nothing more than just to keep alive and breathing. The result is debility and wasting.
A more healthy purpose for a negative calorie diet is as for short term fasting or detox. For example, detox is something you can do for one to three days right after the Christmas season or other times when you have been eating an overly-rich diet. Certainly, it can be a great way to clean out the system – provided you are otherwise healthy. However it is best to get medical advice from a doctor before trying a negative calorie diet for any reason!
If you do decide to use a negative calorie detox, keep the following thoughts in mind:
1. It is a bad idea to eat a single type of food in large quantities, especially fruits. If you consume too much of a single food, the damaging substances it contains will harm you! For example, your stomach lining is at risk if you eat too much grapefruit or pineapple because of the acid they contain. Other foods, if eaten alone in excess may cause diarrhea or put an excessive burden on the liver, causing liver damage. So it is always best to remember to try using all the different foods, but in small quantities each.
2. Even though you are eating “negative calorie” foods, do not spend all day eating. You will become bloated and feel sick. However, you can safely plan four or five salad meals each day, and let your digestion rest at other times. If you are only doing this detox or negative calorie dieting for a couple days, you should not feel too hungry.
3. Remember that if you eat slowly and thoroughly chew your food, you will feel more satisfied. Also, you will burn more calories by eating slowly and chewing thoroughly. Likewise, if it is possible to eat the foods raw, the calorie burn will be higher than if you cook them! When eating raw vegetables, you will find that foods like beets and carrots will be more satisfying if you eat them grated!
4. Please undertake this project at a time when you do not have any important commitments! As with fasting or any kind of detox, some uncomfortable symptoms may come your way. These include headaches, irritability, tiredness and depression. If such symptoms become severe, stop the diet and see a doctor.
5. Plan a gradual return to normal eating, when you end the diet. Don’t make a complete switch all at once. .

Easily Select The Right Keywords For Your Website Optimization.

Note: Before you begin, if you’re NOT 100% serious about getting your website to the top of Google, Yahoo, and MSN, don’t read another word. Only read on if you plan to put everything I will be teaching you into action.
If you’re anything like I was when I first began online, you’ve probably created a brand new website. Then submitted it to a few search engines and hoped that people would mysteriously show up at your site and buy whatever it is you were selling.
After a couple of weeks go by and only a few stray people show up at your website, you decide to try and “optimize” your website around your main keyword in hopes that you just might rank well in 1 of the millions of search engines. Another couple of weeks go by and still no luck.
At this point you probably give up and decide to either build another website around a different target market or just lose all hope and quit. Well, news flash, as you’ve probably figured out by now, this is not the way to go about doing things.
Let me give you a specific example of what your very first steps MUST be when creating any website… no matter what the subject matter is.
In our example, let’s create a weight loss related website. Before we start creating and collecting content for the website, we need to do a little keyword research. This is VERY important and should not be skipped. To do our keyword research we need to visit a few websites.
The first of which should be:
http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
They have a very good keyword tool, and best of all it’s free! Once we are there, we can enter the most generic keyword for our website into the keyword selector tool. In our example, our keyword would be “weight loss”. We get 570179 searches for the month of June 2006.
Now that’s a lot of demand for “weight loss” just on the past month of June 2006! But that’s not all. What about the supply for that hungry demand of people looking for weight loss information, pills, programs, etc?
Well, the way to do that, and by the way this is called finding your competition. Go to Google and type the following (without the quote marks “ “): “allinanchor:weight loss”.
Now notice on google where is says “Results 1 – 10 of about 8,740,000 for allinanchor:weight loss” Now this is what I call, some SERIOUS competition for the “weight loss”. If you are just starting and want to use this keyword to optimize your website, forget it! Yes, demand is high, but your supply, or competition, is so high that you can’t even consider optimizing your website for that particular keyword.
So what’s the answer then? How do I search for high demand but at the same time less competitive keywords? Very simple. I can give you some off hand data but I have to tell you that now a day SEO
(Search Engine Optimization) got even easier with a new tool.
You can take a keyword with a demand of about 500 to 30,000 searches a month using overture keyword tool mentioned above. Yes you could take one which has over 30,000 searches if you have an unusual supply or competition which is lower than the requirement.
Using “allinanchor:keyword” on Google you expect to have a search result of 15,000 or less in order to say that you are on safe ground to optimize your website and rank higher, faster and easier.
Let’s review this next example, look on overture down to “dotties weight loss zone” with 4777 searches last month, nice demand!, now lets see our supply or competition for this particular keyword using “allinanchor:dotties weight loss zone” on Google. Now you can see what we get: “Results 1 – 10 of about 622 for allinanchor:dotties weight loss zone” So what does this mean? You got it! GO FOR IT! 622 is so low that you are certainty going to rank high and fast doing proper use of that keyword on your website.
So there you have it. Always do Step 1 and if it is a pass, move to step 2 and if that is a pass, use it, if it doesn’t pass, go back to step 1 and find another keyword with proper demand and move on to step 2 again.
